In Waves and War is a powerful new Netflix documentary that follows former Navy SEAL Marcus Capone and other combat veterans as they confront the invisible wounds of war—traumatic brain injury (TBI), post-traumatic stress (PTSD), and depression.
After years of struggling with traditional treatments that failed to help, Capone and his wife, Amber, discovered a groundbreaking path to recovery through psychedelic-assisted therapy. Their journey led to the creation of VETS (Veterans Exploring Treatment Solutions), a nonprofit helping thousands of veterans access safe, legal psychedelic treatments abroad.
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Jon Shenk, the film shines a light on the human cost of service, the mental health crisis among veterans, and the growing movement toward alternative healing. At its core, In Waves and War is a story of hope, resilience, and the fight to bring life-saving options to those who’ve sacrificed the most.
